ENGINE REMOVAL

If you plan on keeping your original engine some kit car companies say you can leave it in and stretch the chassis with it in.  Let me tell you that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard.  Listen it is NOT hard to remove a Fiero engine just unplug every thing and lower the car on a Floor Dolly raise the car back up and side it out.  EASY!!!   If you try to cut off the rear,  Line it back up precisely, weld in extensions, and put it back together, all with the engine in you have either done this a few times or are nuts.  Just take it out and you can at least detail the engine compartment and make sure all of your welds have penetrated.  NOTE:  If you have a 6Cyl you will need to at least detach the Clutch & Throttle.  Contrary to belief you do not have to "Extend your brake lines.  After you have done the stretch you can straighten out the brake lines and re-mount them.   There is plenty of tubing!
