Trunks

Front Trunk Area

From the mounting bar of the Wiper motor I am beginning the frame of the trunk
The yellow lines indicate where I will be placing the rest of the floor support. Trunk View
Since the hood is pre-hung with the latch bolts installed I had to cut the hole to line up with the original bolt location. I made a plate to have access to the latch mechanism if it ever needed and servicing or adjustment.

Rear Trunk Area
Passenger side radiator.  The radiators are now mounted in the air boxes. The way I have designed the radiators will allow the hoses to venture straight forward into the engine compartment.  Throughout the design of the trunk area I wanted to keep it ALL REMOVABLE.  This was incase I had to work on the radiators or such.  Everything had screws and no rivets. The cross-over tube connects both radiators in SERIES not parallel.  This is to force the water through both radiators before returning to the engine. There is about 1" clearance from the tube and the fiberglass.
Drivers side radiator.  Note how the hose goes straight forward. I created a stable fill point for the hoses. I still have not cleaned up the area and cut out for the shock towers, but the platform work great.
1. Shows the rear bumper support.   Bolted not welded.  2. Shows the heat shield.  The heat shield is from the original Fiero that I trimmed to fit under the trunk area.  Also Screwed and not welded. The beginning of the trunk area.
The beginning of the trunk area. View 2 I attached the rear part of the floor to brackets. Again bolted not welded
I started the front of the trunk.  There is approximately 3" from the front of the original Fiero trunk and the new framing.  This is to allow the deck lid to match up over a common weather strip bar and to allow for the trunk actuators. Better view of the forward portion of the trunk area.
The rear portion of the trunk area bolts to the lower flooring and also bolts to the forward wall with the side pieces.   The rear portion had to accommodate the latch mechanism and bet he support for the 30th Anniversary Grill.  The radiator tube has over an 1" clearance all the way around it.  AND so far everything is removable.
I cut the opening for the 30th Anniversary grill Grill is mounted
The arrows are showing the mounting points for the grill Sheet metal and filler panels are in.  I will later fully weld the seams and seal the bucket.  The Bucket can be removed by simply pulling it up.

Another View.  The trunk measures about 13" (Floor) X 30 wide and 11" Deep.  I'm pleased with the results
