Rear Chassis

There is not too much to the rear supports.  D&R's rear design for the side frame rails looks much better than most of the kits I've seen. Although optional, the new design fits the car rather well.

This is the rear bumper support that is welded to the rear frame rails.

D&R's design has you completely remove the rear upper frame rail fabricating a new support bracket and frame rail. About 2" of the upper outside part of the shock tower is removed in order to fabricate an L shaped support bracket.  As indicated by the yellow marking.
Finished bracket.  Note how clean it is. Note all the extra frame supports, this rear end isn't going anywhere!
Side view of rear framing. Similar to the side framing picture, this is where the rear framing ties into the rest of the car.
There's a piece of steel that slides in through the top of the firewall.  This not only is hidden, but provides for a very strong support. Another picture of the modified shock tower.
Another picture of the modified shock tower and frame rail. Inside view of framing, note the extra support.
